Sign up for class at the Blue Heron, Vashon Island, WA
Make a bunwarmer or two gourd pots. Start with gourds that have been cut, cleaned and prepared for your embellishment. Use heat-set gourd dyes, wood-burning tools and top them off with beads! Look for my new gourd pots at the Stockett's garden at the Vashon Garden Tour. There will be six delectable outdoor Island sanctuaries that also feature local artists. Exhibition of Gourd Mask Class at Two Wall Gallery in May 2013
8th Grade Class, McMurray Middle School, Vashon Island, WA
Through the Artist in Schools program, I taught Karen Stendahl's 8th grade class to make self-portrait gourd masks as part of a curriculum entitled, "Who I Am". The masks will be on display at Two Wall Gallery in May 2013, located at 17600 Vashon Hwy SW.
